# Malpractice Lawyers: Protecting Patients' Rights

Malpractice lawyers, also known as medical malpractice lawyers, are specialized lawyers who have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of medical law. They typically handle cases where a medical professional, such as a doctor or nurse, has acted negligently, resulting in an injury or harm to a patient. These cases may involve a wide range of medical issues, including misdiagnosis, surgical errors, medication errors, and birth injuries.

Malpractice lawyers review medical records and other evidence to determine whether the medical professional breached the standard of care, which is a key element in a medical malpractice claim. The standard of care refers to the generally accepted practices and procedures that other reasonable medical professionals would use when treating a patient with similar symptoms or conditions.
