# What are the visa options for me to immigrate to the United States as a skilled worker?

As a skilled worker, you may be eligible for several different visa options to immigrate to the United States. The most common visas for skilled workers include the **H-1B visa** and the **E-3 visa**.

The **H-1B visa** is a nonimmigrant visa that allows employers to hire skilled foreign workers in specialty occupations, such as engineering, computer programming, and healthcare. To be eligible for the H-1B visa, you must have a bachelor's or higher degree in the specialty occupation or its equivalent, and the job must require that specific degree. The employer must also sponsor your visa and meet certain requirements, including paying you a prevailing wage.

The **E-3 visa** is a nonimmigrant visa that is available only to Australian citizens. It allows Australian citizens to work in the United States in specialty occupations for up to two years, with the possibility of renewing the visa indefinitely. The requirements for the E-3 visa are similar to those for the H-1B visa, including having a bachelor's degree or higher and being sponsored by an employer.

In addition to these visa options, skilled workers may also be eligible for other types of visas, such as the **O visa** for individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or the **TN visa** for citizens of Canada and Mexico who are seeking to work in certain professions.

It is important to note that these visa options may have certain limitations or exceptions, and that the application process can be complex and time-consuming. It is recommended that you consult with a licensed immigration attorney to discuss your individual situation and determine the best course of action for your immigration goals.
