# What are the eligibility criteria for obtaining an EB-5 visa through investment?

The **EB-5 visa program** allows foreign investors to obtain a green card and permanent residency in the United States. To be eligible for an EB-5 visa through investment, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

1. Investment amount: The investor must invest at least **$1.8 million** in a new or existing commercial enterprise in the US. The minimum investment amount is lowered to **$900,000** if the investment is made in a targeted employment area (TEA).
2. Employment creation: The investment must create at least **10 full-time jobs** for US workers within two years of the investor receiving the visa.
3. Lawful source of funds: The investment funds must be obtained through lawful means, such as business or employment earnings, inheritance, or gifts.
4. Management role: The investor must play an active role in managing the commercial enterprise, either through day-to-day management or through policy formulation.
5. Business type: The investment must be made in one of the following types of businesses: a for-profit entity, a corporation, a limited partnership, or a limited liability company.

It is important to note that obtaining an EB-5 visa through investment is a complex process that requires detailed documentation and evidence of compliance with all eligibility criteria.
