What are the common types of medical malpractice cases that you handle as a lawyer?

As a lawyer, I often handle medical malpractice cases on behalf of my clients. The following are the common types of medical malpractice cases that I handle:
  1. Misdiagnosis: Misdiagnosis occurs when a medical professional fails to diagnose an illness or disease, or diagnoses a patient with a wrong illness or disease. This can cause the patient to receive the wrong treatment, which can be harmful to their health. Common cases of misdiagnosis include cancer misdiagnosis, heart attack misdiagnosis, and stroke misdiagnosis.
  2. Surgical errors: Surgical errors happen when a medical professional makes a mistake during a surgical procedure. This can include anesthesia errors, wrong-site surgery, leaving foreign objects inside the patient, and operating on the wrong patient. Surgical errors can result in serious injury or even death.
  3. Medication errors: Medication errors occur when a medical professional prescribes the wrong medication or the wrong dosage, or administers medication improperly. This can have serious consequences, including allergic reactions, organ damage, and even death.
  4. Birth injuries: Birth injuries can occur when a medical professional fails to diagnose or address complications during childbirth, or uses improper procedures during delivery. Common birth injuries include cerebral palsy, Erb's palsy, and brain damage.
  5. Nursing home abuse: Nursing home abuse can involve physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, as well as neglect or financial exploitation. This can be perpetrated by nursing home staff or other residents.

It is important to note that each case is unique and specific to the circumstances involved. There may be limitations or exceptions to these common types of medical malpractice cases based on applicable laws and regulations. If you believe you have a medical malpractice case, it is important to consult with a licensed attorney for advice specific to your situation.
